Q: How long have you been raising puppies? 

A: Family owned and operated by three generations, TLC Kennel has been in existence for over 40 years bringing excellence and quality to our customers through years of experience.

Q: I notice that you offer many different breeds on your web site. Is that a good thing?

A: All dams, sires, and puppies receive state of the art housing and health care that meets their specific breed requirements. We offer a variety of breeds that meet the express interests of today’s pet owner for whom choosing just the right puppy is important. The health and quality of our puppies is determined by the expertise and care they receive. Our mission is getting happy, healthy puppies to loving and caring forever homes.

Q: Can I visit your facility to choose a puppy?

A: Yes, you may visit TLC Kennel by appointment. We are a disease-controlled facility, so we do not give kennel wide tours. You will be able to view the puppy/litter/ parents of the breed you are interested in or a small variety of puppies if you are undecided.

Q: Do you offer a health guarantee?

A: Yes, we offer a six month health guarantee which covers any life-threatening disorders as documented by your vet. We expect you to follow our instructions in the proper care and feeding of the puppy and provide follow up veterinary care.

Q: Have your puppies been vaccinated?

A: Yes, each puppy comes with CURRENT immunizations and deworming. This means that all immunizations have been given as is appropriate for the puppy’s age.   Puppies have been treated for parasites by multiple products multiple times. A complete record will be provided for you. You will need to follow with additional immunizations per the recommendations of your veterinarian in a timely manner.

Q: What do I feed my puppy?

A: We feed a high quality puppy food. This is very important for your puppy’s growth. We recommend Royal Canin puppy foods. For select toy breeds, specific additional instructions will be provided.  It is important that you initially feed the recommended dog food.  Should you decide to change your puppies diet for any reason, you should do so gradually to avoid any dietary upset.

Q: Do you ship your puppies?

A: Currently, customers need to plan to pick up their puppy. A personal pick up date at the kennel can be arranged by appointment by calling 719-349-0505. Customers who live outside of Colorado frequently drive or fly in. Third party door to door transport can also be arranged. We recommend Set Free Delivery with Dale Watkins at 678-898-4117. Q:  Can I get a refund on my deposit?

A: We do require a deposit to consider a puppy sold. Deposits are non-refundable as the puppy is no longer considered for sale.  If we are unable to provide you with a healthy puppy, the deposit will be refunded.  Deposits are $300 and will be deducted from the purchase price + tax.

Q: What is a Hybrid?

A: Hybrid is a cross between two purebred dogs. A purebred dog is one that has been bred over many generations to breed true, meaning each puppy that is born looks and has the same temperament and characteristics as the others. In most cases a standard is written and breeders must follow this written standard. Only dogs that make the written standard are to be bred. Purebred dogs are beneficial in that when you buy a purebred dog you know what you are getting. You know how big your puppy will grow and you know basically what type of care the dog will need. You know the dog’s limits, whether it is capable of agility, hunting, search and rescue, police work, herding, flock guarding, or just simply being a companion dog. You have a pretty good idea how much exercise the dog will require. When one breeds purebred dogs great care must be taken to ensure the lines do not become too thin. Even with all the best DNA testing available genetic problems can occur, however with the proper testing these problems can be greatly reduced.

We do require a deposit to consider a puppy sold. Deposits are $300 and are part of the purchase price plus tax. All deposits are non refundable.
